Wir haben einige Bands und Künstler um ein eMail-Interview gebeten. Hier die Antworten - natürlich in Englisch:

Big in Iowa (Bob Burns)

Steve Wynn

Plaese tell us something about your latest album

Our latest album is called Green Pop. It was recorded in Brooklyn NYC and produced by Eric "Roscoe" Ambel. If you're not familiar with Eric, he was in Joan Jett & The Black Hearts, The Del Lords and is currently playing guitar for Steve Earl.
The record still sounds like Big In Iowa, but I think it's a lot different than anything we've ever done. It's a lot more rock than our previous efforts. I could go on and on and tell you how great I think it is, but I'll let the listeners be the judge. Plus, I don't want to jinx it! It's coming out May 28th, and if you go to Blue Rose Records web page, you can listen to an interview disc where I talk about the songs and play about 30 seconds of each track . After listening back to myself, I've decided that I'm pretty boring, so just listen to the music. http://www.bluerose-records.com

My new album ('Here Come the Miracles') was recorded in Tucson last September and then overdubbed and mixed in New York a few months later.   Every phase of the record happened in an effortless and wonderful way, the most enjoyable session I've ever had.   I'm very proud of what we did and think it's the best record I've ever made.

What will be your next project?

I'm working on a WHAM tribute CD. Just kidding. I don't have anything planned yet. I'm still writing songs, and we'll see what happens. I'll just play it by

I'm really just concentrating on the promotion and touring for the new album and haven't given that much thought of the next move.   I'll probably be on tour until the end of the year.   Then I"ll unpack the suitcase and begin writing new songs.

Will you be on a german tour, soon?

Yes! We'll be touring from June 1st to July 9th! We're playing lots of great shows and festivals in Germany, The Netherlands, The U.K., Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and God knows where else?

Actually I just finished a German tour.    We did about 15 shows last April but might come back for a few more in the Fall. You can check for the latest show updates on my website (www.stevewynn.net)

What are your favorite bands or artists?

I hate this question as much as I love it. I always forget my favorites.
There are so many that I don't know where to start. I'll just list a few that are at the top of my list. The Beatles, The Byrds, The Kinks, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Neil Young, Dave Edmunds, Los Lobos, C.C.R., Tom Petty, U2, The Black Crowes, The Cardigans, Black Sabbath, Guadal Canal Diary, R.E.M., Elvis Costello, Buck Owens, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, George Jones, The Flying Burrito Brothers.... I could go on for hours. I've got too many favorites.

I am a fan of so many artists/bands from the past and present. Neil Young, Primal Scream, Giant Sand, Leonard Cohen, Iggy Pop, the Soft Boys, Miles Davis, etc etc etc

What do you think about Edgar of Blue Rose Records?

I think Edgar is a handsome man. Seriously though, I admire Edgar. He's a great businessman and a huge fan of music. It's not easy to find people in the music biz that are fans as well. Edgar took a chance on us when we were absolute nobodies, and has helped gain us a great fan base in Europe. Edgar gets two thumbs up from the Big In Iowa camp.

he's the greatest!

What do you like to tell your german fans?

I wish I could speak more German and that we really appreciate all of our fans. They treated us so well on our last tour. They took us into their homes, cooked us dinner, drove hundreds of kilometers to come see us, did our laundry, bought our CD's etc. It's frustrating sometimes that we can't personally thank everybody for supporting us. So I'd like to say Thank You.

I appreciate your love, enthusiasm and loyalty. I will always do my best to make records and perform shows worthy of your support.
